Lukas Prent’s practice centres on figurative painting and explores social and political tensions, often revealing hidden conflicts beneath seemingly calm situations. Through recurring forms like sharp triangles, he points to the impact of social and political forces on both society and nature. His work is shaped by his experience of growing up in Germany and later living in Brazil, where his confrontation with questions of privilege, social inequality and racism has been sharpened.
Prent studied for three semesters at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Professor Katharina Wulff. In Rio de Janeiro, he has studied woodcut at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage with Júlio Castro and participated in a course by Anna Costa e Silva, as well as several independent courses. In 2025, he took part in an art residency with Itinera Arte and continues to attend courses on sociopolitical issues to deepen the conceptual foundations of his work.
